I finally got around to building Lego 21109 “Exo Suit”. It was an interesting build, making good use of both technic and regular parts to achieve flexible limbs with a pretty classical Lego look.

Unfortunately it is very hard to properly balance the legs, causing the Exo Suit to have a rather wobbly stand - in actual play I would expect it to fall over regularly.

Ben pointed out a nice little detail about one of the small accessory builds included in the set.

Aside from the Exo Suit itself and the litte “robot dog” that is pictured on the box, the set also includes a grate and 2 yellow barrels.

In the video game Lego City Undercover, during the mission Fly Me To The Moon, the player has to control a yellow “Megafig” and use it to throw barrels at Rex Fury. Looking at screenshots from that mission that I can find online, the “Megafig” and the Exo Suit have a pretty similar look. It is not clear why the Exo Suit is not yellow, but having these yellow barrels seems to be a hint at the connection between the two.
